CLUB AWARDS SCHEME
Updated for 2013!
We have
re-packaged and relaunched the Club Awards scheme using a new set of
standards. You can find these through the link below. Paul Marshall is
administering the scheme and we will publish updates as and when club
members achieve the new marks.

EXPLANATORY NOTES
-
A certificate is given
to the runner for each of the 6 distances, once they achieve the Bronze,
Silver, Gold, Platinum, Ruby or Diamond standard for their age group for that event.
-
Once the athlete has
achieved the Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Ruby or Diamond standard for 5 out of
the 6 events, they will be presented with an ‘Overall Certificate of
Merit’. They can then work towards achieving the next set of standards.
-
When the runner moves
up to their next vet. category the slate is wiped clean and he or she
works towards achieving the times set out for this age group.
-
If the runner achieves
a mixture of standards for the 5 events, he or she will be awarded a
Certificate of Merit for the lowest of these. For example, if the
runner reaches Silver in 4 events and Gold in 1 event, they will receive
an ‘Overall Certificate of Merit – Silver’ and can then train to bring
the other 4 events up to the Gold standard.
-
The timing standards for
each event are set by UK Athletics.
-
Race Events must be UK:A
approved i.e. licensed and measured.
-
It is expected
and required that runners entering under the club affiliation scheme
(i.e. reduced entry fee) will wear their Tavistock Athletic Club vest when
competing.
-
Athletes will move to
the next veteran category on their birthday.
